TravelBreak.net - Travel Checklist: Trendy and Practical Carry-on

Sometimes we just need to get organized.

I spent the last few weeks in hiding. After traveling solo and full-time for nine months, taking seven flights per week a couple times in a row, all I really needed was to rest…and get organized.

I went home to mom and dad’s: my refuge, my paradise.

Amongst my travel checklist was equipping myself appropriately. I live out of my carry-ons – a 20″ rolling suitcase, and a “personal item.” I don’t have an apartment, and with the amount of flights I take, the last thing I want to do is check a bag. My carry-on choice is a pretty big deal.

As a travel story-teller, the right bag conveniently came to me.  I had already tried SIX, and none were working for me.

I’d like to introduce you to the bag that saved my sanity, as sponsored by Lo & Sons.

In review, three reasons I love Lo & Sons:

1. It’s the perfect size.

This portable trunk somehow manages to fit all of my essentials, but fits under airline seats.

Realistically, every airline is different, and I always use the same rolling carry-on. At any moment, my suitcase can be forced to be checked-in, so it’s incredibly important that my “personal item” can carry enough to prevent my life from falling apart without my main belongings. It’s not unheard of for checked luggage to be lost, so my little personal item needs to go a long way.

Inside my Lo & Sons carry-on, you’ll find:

  • Bag of Toiletries
    • Toothpaste
    • Toothbrush
    • Facial Buff
    • Razor
    • Contact Solutions

Quick photo before heading to the night-markets of Thailand. The larger Lo & Sons bag allows me to conceal my camera to avoid attention.

    2. It has multiple compartments, so organization is easy and you will not struggle to find what you are looking for.

There is nothing like having a bag that fits your life, but not being able to find what you need without taking everything else out. My favorite thing about this bag is that in a world of travel where I’m always lost, I can at least find my Chapstick.

It has side zippers for outside pockets with zippers within them to protect valuables.

This bag provides me with a secure place to store my passport and wallet — the outside zippers make it accessible, but not so accessible that someone can slip it out without my notice.

An extra pocket inside secures your laptop.

Because the world is my office, and my bag is my desk.

Across from it, a pocket zipper conceals smaller valuables.

I left my suitcase in Bangkok and brought just my Lo & Sons carry-on/ weekender to the Southern beaches.

    3. Sleek and trendy aesthetically, it is also waterproof to protect my electronic valuables.

Because this same carry-on acts as a briefcase when I have a meeting with a client, it’s gotta look good. I opted for black-on-black, so even if the bag gets dirty during the course of my travels, you can’t tell!

The bag’s sturdy and waterproof functions also make it a secure place to fit my gigantic camera, lap top, and more.
